Except for the first few paragraphs of each chapter, I took Dead Ginny off the net in 2005 but if you want to read and/or listen to the sucker for free, click this. Thanks. G.

Chapter Twenty-five
Scenic Hills

I didn't find out Elliot killed himself until almost a month later. Dick Joseph told me. I was always running into Dick Joseph. He was just the kind of guy you always run into. I did some quick extrapolating based on the Alumax meeting in my appointment book and figured out that Elliot shot himself the day after I saw him at his mother's house. When I found out he was dead, I called Ginny to tell her. I called and called. The phone rang and rang. She never answered. The last time I called, the number was no longer in service. I asked a guy I sold computers to at Levi Strauss whether he'd seen Ginny lately. They used to go to the same AA meetings over in Berkeley, and, no, come to think of it, he hadn't. Then he mentioned, oh yeah, he thought she might be dead. It was just something he vaguely remembered having heard. He wasn't positive. He'd check it out, though. And, sure enough, the next time I was at Levi's, it was true. Ginny Good was dead. The way it happened according to the way the guy at Levi's heard it was that she had OD'd on Excedrin PM. Well, Excedrin PM and the better part of a fifth of gin. He stressed the gin more than the Excedrin PM. AA guys get kind of sanctimonious when it comes to alcohol and people in the program.

"Shows to go you," the guy said.
